Exciting...

Hopefully by next weekend we'll have a new deck. Jason (Bald Eagle Builders) came out yesterday and told us that they're planning on putting the footings in starting tomorrow and then it should be ~4 days before they are done. Can you believe it? 4 days!

The design of the deck fairly basic - it will be tucked between the house and the sunroom with a wide set of stairs going off the west end of the deck into the yard. We really liked that feature from our last deck so we were hoping to incorporate into this one as well. I think the dimensions will be about 14 x 20 - so a little smaller than our last one but still a really nice size.

In other news we also met with Eric (Forestland Nurseries & Landscaping) to talk about landscaping ideas for the front of the house. We're planning on doing the work ourselves but it was really nice to talk through some ideas with him. This weekend we'll be heading to his nursery in Forest Lake to look at plants and get a better plan in place. There's a lot of work to do but once it's done I think everything is going to look really beautiful. At least I (& all the neighbors) hope so.

Oh my... look what I found

I got a new laptop for work and while I was cleaning out some files I came across this video of Henry taken right after his 3rd birthday. I can't believe how little he was. At the time he seemed so big and grown up but looking back now... not so much.

Warning - it's kind of long and the quality isn't super great or anything but still totally adorable!

It won't be long now

My conversation with Eli regarding the Easter Bunny:

Me: You'd better get to sleep so the Easter Bunny can come.
E: Where's he going to leave our presents?
Me: Somewhere outside... bunnies don't come into the house.
E: Well, it's not a real bunny.
Me: It's not?
E: No! It's a guy dressed in a costume.
Me: Really? Who's the guy?
E: I don't know... I think it's someone we know though.

He's growing up so fast!

April Fools

H&E loved the whole concept of April Fools day this year. Oh boy did they ever. Almost everything that came out of their mouths was followed by "April fools!" It even continued well into April 2nd they loved it so much.

Eli: Mommy, there's a boa constrictor on your head!
Me: Pretend screaming
Eli: April Fools
Me: You really got me this time, Eli.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat all afternoon.

Henry wanted to play a good trick on his dad so we had the hair cutting place spray on this temporary green hair color. Henry played his part perfectly when Troy got home from work - denying that his hair was green, pretending he didn't know what Troy was talking about - very cute!
